"Celestial Sweets Pt.2: Wagashi for All Seasons", is my last rendering for Emmanuel Pepin's weekly Unit on Food. This time, I celebrate delicious wagashi and seasonal flavours: matcha, sakura, plum, strawberry, nuts, chocolate etc. And their diverse and artistic presentations: colour, shape, transparency. There is a black lacquer tray with a selection of wagashi to be tasted: dango, yokan, mochi, sakuranbo, assorted jellies, puddings and cakes accompanied by generous bowls of matcha or green tea.
