In summary, I do use two different programs here: Photoshop and Dimension. I create a 3D shape from extruding a bidimensional basic shape (circles, in the case). This file is saved and then exported to Dimension, where I enter material, light setup and background, and adjust the properties as to obtain the final result. That's the basic process.
