Below I have the very same cluster of spheres. I have changed the textures, colour and lighting throughout. In the blue/green ones, I have modified the camera angle without changing the original position. I think it illustrates well what a 3D software can do. In the last composite I have dispersed the balls and added a copper material with super-reflective surface to it. In the close-up you can see how each single ball captured the reflections depending on its position in the scenery.
Using the above composites, I have moved the camera in and selected a focus area, applying a blur to the remaining areas to give it a feeling of some depth of field.
