Inspired by our visit to the Leighton House, Holland Park, I decided to make a self-portrait. In a dream we can be whatever (and wherever) we want. It is called "A Good Dream", where I am sleeping, and Bella is wide awake, always watching out for me, like a little Guardian fairy.
I have used the photos we took of myself, the House gardens and several flowers (hydrangeas are a favourite).
All trying to convey a Pre-Raphaelite atmosphere. I have used some peacock tiles designed by William de Morgan, alluding to the tiles inside the house, which were also designed by the same artist in around 1868.
