This is my last series series of magpies. Iberian magpies and Azure-Winged ones (pica-pica). They are very similar, but the Iberian one is smaller. The Azure-winged ones or pica-pica, in the other hand, are not only larger but occur in a great portion of East Asia (China, Korea, Japan and parts of Siberia and Mongolia). These species are not threatened by extinction and display a wonderful mix of blue, beige and white in their plumages. The 1st plate, showing a cute closeup of an Iberian baby, was based on a photo by Ruben Cebrian, thank you!
