I have designed some imaginary flowers using Illustrator and then finalised them in Photoshop, using a molten gold overlay and gradient backgrounds. It was an interesting process, although the Illustrator part definitely made my PC very slow while processing all the effects (distortions/pucker and bloat, and zigzags). Included below are the original flower designs (the first four screenshots, namely, the Illustrator flowers in their original colours over a simple background), followed by the post-production images in various colour schemes and different effects, as later treated in Photoshop. My main purpose here was to work with some transparency and gradients.
